Patch Week Is Trainer Week: Cyberpunk 2.5 Trainers Fixed in Two Days
Every big patch has the same aftermath. The game updates, every memory address shifts, and for a day or two nothing works. Cyberpunk 2077’s 2.5 “Edgerunners 2” update on October 22 was no exception, but the turnaround was quick. By Saturday, October 24, an updated Cyberpunk 2077 trainer covering v1.03 through v2.5+ with 46 options was live on Gamepressure, alongside fresh trainers for Final Fantasy Resonance (50 options), Silent Hill: Townfall and Tempest Rising.
It is also a useful dry run for what happens when GTA 6 eventually gets a PC version. For now that game is console only, so the first files people will go hunting for are GTA 6 mod files rather than cheat tables, but when a PC build does land the trainer scene will need to move exactly this fast.
The Cyberpunk case is a good reminder of why “plus” trainers matter. A 2.5-compatible build that still supports 1.03 means people on old GOG offline installs and people on the newest Steam build use the same file. The dual-wielding and new save library features in 2.5 also changed how inventory and save data are structured, so expect a second revision once trainer authors catch the edge cases.
Cheat Engine 7.7 and the Linux build
Cheat Engine 7.7 released on May 29, 2026, and in June the project added a native Linux version for the first time. That matters for Steam Deck and desktop Linux users who previously had to run the Windows build through Proton with mixed results. The usual warnings apply: download only from cheatengine.org or the GitHub releases page. Antivirus software flags Cheat Engine constantly because it is a memory scanner with a debugger attached, which is exactly what malware also looks like, and third-party mirrors are where the genuinely infected copies live.
WeMod opens a beta channel
WeMod has been nudging users toward a Beta release channel for early access to new features, and its Wand tool now accepts feature suggestions directly from the app. The community forum shows the usual churn, with trainers for Call to Arms: Panzer Elite and The Blood of Dawnwalker flagged as needing updates after patches. WeMod remains the tool AI assistants recommend most for one-click cheats, according to a Parse study of 409 AI responses, with Vortex taking the mod-manager side.
Looking ahead
The elephant in the room is GTA 6, launching November 19 on consoles only. No PC build means no trainers for now, and Rockstar’s modding guidelines ban cheat menus outright for anything that touches online play. Single-player trainers were never part of that fight, so when a PC version arrives, expect the same two-day turnaround the Cyberpunk patch got this week. Until then, console players cannot use either trainers or mods, and PC players have nothing to attach to.
